I am very disappointed with Canon. I just bought Canon Powershot A480 digital camera. Prior to this, I few months ago, I bought Canon all-in-one printer for by business, and Canon disappointed me. The entire product didn’t work as I expected. It’s fax/phone doesn’t work properly. It’s scan require computer software to scan. Prior to that, my Canon digital camera malfunctioned which was replaced by PowerShot A520. Now, that camera’s lens cover doesn’t open automatically. I have to use my finger to open it. And now, the Canon’s ZoomBrowerEX software doesn’t work with installing / uninstalling /reinstalling. Is this Powershot A480 will be good camera? I wouldn’t bet on it. This is my last Canon product.

YOU KNOW I WANTED TO LIKE THIS CAMERA. I TRIED ALL THE MODES. I USED FRESH ALKALINE CELLS. A SANDISK EXTREME III SDHC CARD.

25% OF THE SHOTS WERE BLURRED (POOR AUTO FOCUS) THE REST WERE OF POOR QUALITY TOO. SOME THE SHOTS WERE OF THE SAME EXACT SCENE

TAKEN MULTIPLE TIMES. 25/75 WAS AS GOOD AS IT GOT…

OUR OLD NIKON COOLPIX 4800 STILL DOES A BETTER JOB !

BEAR IN MIND ALSO THAT I SHOOT NIKON FILM CAMERAS. AN N90S. SOME N2000′S. NIKON LENSES. THE PRINTS FROM THESE CAMERAS ARE AMAZING !

    400 FILM. 100 FILM. NIKON SB-23 FLASH. RARELY DO I GET A BAD PHOTO…

MY SON’S CANON G10 ALSO DOES NOT IMPRESS ME.

COME ON, MAKE A GOOD DIGITAL CAMERA ! PUT GOOD LENSES IN THEM. ALLOW MANUAL CONTROL TOO !

THERE’S NOTHING WRONG WITH FILM. GET A 35mm NIKON (NOT AN N65!) AND GET GOOD PHOTOS.

The camera took a long time to arrive, when it did I was dissapointed. It’s bulky and I didn’t realize that it needed batteries. I returned it and got the sd1100 instead. It has the plug to charge it on the wall it’s thin and hold lots of video time. It was worth the extra 20 dollars.

I was looking for something that would slip easily into a pocket. The photos look like it is small, but it is somewhat triangular to account for the AA batteries and is quite wide at one end. The best word to describe it is “clunky.” I love my Canon S3 IS and would love to stick with Canon for my pocket camera, but I can’t deal with the size and returned it.

I bought this for my daughter to take pictures on vacation. It works great for that purpose. The pictures are very clear and detailed indoors and out. My only complaint with this camera is that if you take a vertical picture, it doesn’t know that’s what you did, so you have to turn the camera sideways to view it properly and do the rotation in your photo management software too.
